2 weeks old

On Monday Ryder was 2 weeks old. I just had his checkup today and he weighed in at a whopping 7 lbs 5 oz. He has gained almost a pound and a half in 2 weeks. I was so relieved to have him gain so much weight. Both Conner and Paxton had a really hard time gaining weight when they were born, so it this is such a relief. The doctor told me to just keep doing what I was doing.

I was so nervous about having 3 kids but it really hasn't been too bad. There have been a few hard times, but for the most part it has been ok. Ryder has been such a good baby, he sleeps pretty well at night and is good during the day.

Here are the boys with Great Grandma Olsen when she came to visit us.

Mark took...

1st place in his age group in the 5k he ran on Saturday. Wow! He is doing awesome. He finished in 24 minutes and came in 8th overall. He knee was hurting him a lot after the last race he did a few weeks ago, but he saw a doctor and they told him that he needs to stretch more. Here he is with his medal!

He's Arrived!

Our little boy decided to make his entrance early this morning. Ryder Lynn was born at 1:03 am today. He weighed 6 lbs even and 20 inches long.
I had been having contractions throughout the day, but they were not regular or very consistent at all, maybe every half hour or hour. I took a couple walks around the block later on in the evening and every time I would start walking I would have contractions again, but if I sat down they would stop. So I wasn't too convinced that I was going to have the baby today.

We started to get ready for bed about 9:30 and I started having contractions pretty regularly, about every 3 or 4 minutes and they were getting pretty strong and painful. I waited until 10 to call my parents and have them come stay with the boys and we headed off to the hospital. We got to the hospital about 10:30 and they got everything set up. I got my epidural and was just getting comfortable when my doctor showed up, broke my water, and Ryder was born in just 1 1/2 pushes.

He came out hollering, but he was having a hard time breathing, so they took him right up to the NICU. They did chest x rays and decided that his lungs just weren't quite developed yet, so they gave him some medicine and put him on a ventilator to help him breathe.
He was able to come off the ventilator this morning around 9, he might need some oxygen but he is doing really well. Hopefully we will get to start holding him tonight and maybe even trying feeding.
Here he is after getting off the ventilator. We will have to post more pictures when we get home because forgot the cord to connect our camera to the computer.

We've made it to July!

We have been waiting and waiting and it has finally come. We were really hoping to wait until after July 1st to have our baby and we've done it. So now little one, if you are listening, you can come any time now. Tomorrow I will be 38 weeks along. I had Con help me takes some pictures of myself, since I don't have any of me before I delivered Con or Pax, so I can remember how WONDERFUL it is to be pregnant.

Con thought he was really funny taking close ups of just my belly. So here is a really good look at it!

Mark's new hobby

If you all know Mark at all, you will be completely surprised by what he has been doing lately. He has started running. This is coming from the man that would drive the dune buggy down 3 houses to the mailbox and drive his truck from his apartment to the library not even 100 yards away in college. Lets just say that he does not spend a lot of time exercising.

He ran in his first 5K this last weekend and did pretty well. He ran it in 26:32, which is about a 8.5 minute mile. He has done really well, but his knee is starting to hurt him, so we'll have to see what happens. I was really exciting to have him want to start exercising, but now I am worried that I won't be able to keep up with him.
