1st day of Kindergarten

Today was Conner's 1st day of kindergarten. He was ready to go but he wasn't really excited. It was no big deal for him. But I was ready to have him go to school. I always thought that I would be really sad and worried about him, but for the most part I was just ready for him to go. Conner said he had a good day and they talked about elephants. But I didn't get much more out of him.

Conner gets to ride the bus to school, which was what I was worried about. He gets picked up in front of our house, with only kindergarten kids, by one bus driver. But the ride home from school is with a different bus driver and all grades at the school. I was so worried about him getting on the wrong bus and getting lost. I tried to find out as much info as I could, but no one really knew how it worked. So I decided to go to school and just stay in the background to make sure he got on the bus ok. And I am really glad I did. His teacher had him on the wrong bus and his one neighbor buddy was not even on a bus at all. I think we got it all figured out, but I am still going to go to school tomorrow too, just to make sure!

Summer is over - What have we done?

It seems like we haven't had much going on but we are always so busy. And time just flies by so fast, when I actually take the time to look back, I wish it would slow down.

I made me a new skirt. I absolutely love to sew but I just never find the time to do it, but 2 hours of nap time was all I needed. I made this skirt out of denim I had in my cedar chest for probably 5 years. So it was free! (Mark will probably make fun of me for putting a picture of myself on here, but oh well, I was excited for my new skirt.)

I swear that my kids can destroy anything in no time flat. This is what my house looks like everyday. I just recently had a conversation with some friends about having a couch that doesn't have pillows, I guess I learned that tip too late!

We have been working, working, and working on our basement. I am really excited to have it done, especially for all the cold winter days. It will be nice to have the extra room to play. Hopefully we will be drywalling soon!

Conner had swimming lessons and he finally passed the first level. He had a really hard time putting his face under, but by the end of lessons he was a pro! Level 2, here we come! He had 6 little boys in his class. I think they about drove the teacher crazy but they sure had lots of fun.

We have a couple of deer that like to hang around our neighborhood. It is pretty quiet and there are lots of places for them to hide and eat my garden! They have eaten my pumpkins and my tomatoes. But our neighbor saw them the other night and had to come get us to see them too. One was a good size 4-point and then a smaller 2-point. Can you see them? They were kind of far away by the time we got our camera out.

And we officially have a walker. Ryder has been taking steps forever, but he has been nervous about really walking. But he is doing it now! Ya! Look at my big boy!

You've got your hands full!

#1- Relief Society president comes up to me after church and says, "Wow, you've got your hands full, but I sure was entertained watching your family."

#2- As I was pushing a shopping cart filled with 3 wild boys into Walmart and lady walking out said to me, "Boy, you've got your hands full."

#3- Same day at Walmart, still pushing a cart filled with 3 wild boys and now also food strategically placed in between the 3 boys. Paxton grabs the cantaloupe and throws it from the cart. As it goes rolling down the isle, a lady laughs and say, "Looks like you've got your hands full!"

I think I must walk around with an exhausted and overwhelmed look on my face so that everybody notices that I really "have my hands full." I have to admit that I feel overwhelmed a lot with my boys running around all the time, but I do love them and how much energy they have, just not at church or at Walmart!
