2nd Grade Program

Conner's 2nd grade class did a patriotic program towards the end of the year.  They learned lots of songs and Conner had a couple different parts that he had to recite.  Sometimes he gets a little nervous when he is up in front of people but he did great and even sang a little bit in the microphone!

First day of School

Here are the annual 1st day of school pictures next to our bear.  I'm always amazed at how much my kids have grown during the year when I compare these pictures to last years.

Paxton started Kindergarten this year.  His day starts pretty early with the bus picking him up at 7:20.  We have only missed it a few times because I have let him sleep in a few times.  I'm really happy about his school this year but I am a little frustrated with how long he is on the bus, to and from school.  He doesn't get home until almost 4:00.  So it is a long day for him.
Conner starts 2nd grade.  I still can't believe it but he just keeps getting older and older.  Time needs to slow down.  He is excited for school and I'm excited for all the things he is going to learn this year.

Ryder didn't want to be left out of the pictures!
Ryder started preschool the week after the older boys.  A couple moms in the neighborhood and doing a joy school.  I'm really happy with it.  It is perfect for Ryder.  He loves to go to "school at my friend's house!"

Conner's 1st Grade Play

The 1st grade put on a cute little play about Honesty in the beginning of April.  Conner had his part memorized the first day he brought it home.  He did a great job singing all of the songs and only got a little nervous when it was his turn to say his part.

1st day of 1st Grade

All summer long I couldn't wait for this day, but now that it is here I am a little sad to have him gone all day long. But he is ready for it and so am I. He said that he had a good day and was really excited that he got 3 recesses. But that is about as much as I can get out of him.

Here is his giant 1st day of school cookie. Don't worry he didn't eat the whole thing and I also don't usually let him sit on the table!

Green Eggs and Ham

Last week Conner got to dress up as a character from a book, so we chose Sam I am, from Green Eggs and Ham. Conner was so excited when he got home from school. He said everyone loved it and all the kids on the bus were pretending to eat his green eggs and ham.

Conner's Special Recognition

Conner was awarded with a special recognition at school this month. I was really interested to see what it was because I had no idea what it could be. Well, he was given a special award for "showing love and kindness to his class and teachers." Good job Conner! You are such a nice boy and we absolutely love you.

1st day of Kindergarten

Today was Conner's 1st day of kindergarten. He was ready to go but he wasn't really excited. It was no big deal for him. But I was ready to have him go to school. I always thought that I would be really sad and worried about him, but for the most part I was just ready for him to go. Conner said he had a good day and they talked about elephants. But I didn't get much more out of him.
Conner gets to ride the bus to school, which was what I was worried about. He gets picked up in front of our house, with only kindergarten kids, by one bus driver. But the ride home from school is with a different bus driver and all grades at the school. I was so worried about him getting on the wrong bus and getting lost. I tried to find out as much info as I could, but no one really knew how it worked. So I decided to go to school and just stay in the background to make sure he got on the bus ok. And I am really glad I did. His teacher had him on the wrong bus and his one neighbor buddy was not even on a bus at all. I think we got it all figured out, but I am still going to go to school tomorrow too, just to make sure!
