Paxton's latest field trip
The day before Paxton's surgery, he went on the last field trip of the school year. They went to the fish hatchery, Salem Ponds, and somewhere else, but I cannot remember where. All of the kids caught a fish and they fileted it and got it ready for everyone to cook. So here is Pac getting ready to eat his little fish. His teacher and the aides all said that he had so much fun and he was exhausted when I picked him up off the bus. Mother's Day 2009
Mother's day was a little bit stressful this year, because I was worried about Paxton. But in the end it was a good day. Conner was so helpful and kept asking what he could do to help me on "my day." He helped daddy make me a great peanut butter sandwich with a diet pepsi for lunch. It was great!
Both Conner and Paxton made some cute presents in preschool.

Paxton's Surgery
Paxton had his tonsils and adenoids out last Thursday, along with another tube put in his right ear. He did ok with it but had a few issues. His oxygen level would not stay up, so we ended up staying in the hospital a couple hours later than we thought. Finally the ENT and anesthesiologist decided that he would be ok and let us go home. Paxton did ok that first day and then things kind of went downhill.
By Sunday he was not drinking anything or wanting to take his medicine. I had been fighting him so much to drink and get medicine down him that he was really mad at me and had gotten really good at spitting his medicine out in my face. He spent the whole day just laying on the couch, in and out of sleep. Mark and I were really worried about him and called the doctor. He told us to try a different medicine and if things weren't better in a couple hours to take him back to the hospital. Well, he didn't get any better, so we headed to the ER. They just hooked him up to IV fluids for a couple hours and sent us back home. The nurse we had was really helpful though and she gave us lots of good ideas to help him feel better.
I guess that I thought it would be a lot easier that it was, Paxton is usually really good about everything that he has done to him and he loves popcicles and ice cream, but it just wasn't happening. But he is feeling tons better now and hopefully will continue to heal.
I have some really cute pictures of him at the hospital that I took with my phone, but I need Mark to help me put them on here. But here are some other pics.

Conner and Nature
Conner has been learning about nature in preschool lately. Here are some of the things he learned.
Whales are the biggest and meanest animals in the world and they have a blow hole. Killer whales are the strongest and baddest whale in the whole entire world.

So this post started out to just be about rolly polly bugs, but Conner had to have me type in all that he has learned.
Conner and I were out walking this morning and we saw a rolly polly bug so we stopped to watch it. And Conner told me he learned how rolly pollies have babies "in nature." He said there are three steps...
First, they find a nice and cozy place.
Second, they rest for a while.
Third, they wake up and they find a place to go potty and poop out a little baby rolly polly.
He cracks me up. He is so serious about it too.
And now about deer:
If deer find a dead tree, they will start scratching it and killing the tree.

After that ants start killing the tree even more and start living in it. Then when the tree dies they find an ant farm to live in. And ants are so strong they could carry a dad. Ants are the smallest and strongest animals in the world.

So this post started out to just be about rolly polly bugs, but Conner had to have me type in all that he has learned.

More of Ryder's Firsts
Ryder is getting so big. He can now walk along the couch and we catch him standing up without holding on to anything quite often now. But I still think it will be a while until he is walking. He also had another first this week, his first Oreo cookie, by accident of course. I gave the big boys a cookie and while I wasn't watching Paxton gave Ryder a little piece and Ryder loved it! He was really mad at me when I took it away.
Rain & Puddles
I feel like it has been raining like crazy lately, which is good for our little grass seed. The other day we went for a walk around the neighborhood and the boys found a little puddle. Conner was so excited and ran straight for it, but Paxton was a little hesitant. But not for long. They loved it and it was fun to watch them play and laugh with each other.
